Finance Operations Manager (Podcast Advertising)

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles or Boston, United States, with in-person office work 3–4 days per week

Estimated annual base salary: $70,000–$130,000, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Own the monthly financial close, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting.
• Manage advertising revenue reconciliation and invoicing, resolving billing discrepancies with advertising operations and account management.
• Prepare income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and other financial reports for leadership and investors.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, bank reconciliations, payment operations, and financial issue resolution.
• Maintain cash flow forecasts and provide financial analyses on business performance, revenue trends, and operational metrics.
• Improve and automate accounting, invoicing, reporting, and payment workflows in collaboration with bookkeepers, accountants, and internal teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in accounting or hands-on financial operations, ideally in a technology company or fast-growing business.
• Experience owning or coordinating month-end close, financial reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements, with experience working with professional accountants and external advisors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies and manage recurring deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, data analysis, and reconciliations; experience with accounting software.
• Ability to work hybrid in person at the Los Angeles or Boston office 3–4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools to automate financial processes.
• Experience with digital advertising, media, marketplaces, revenue-sharing, or complex payment models.
• Experience with billing systems, Stripe, automated financial workflows, SQL, or BI tools.
• Experience with cash flow forecasting, financial planning and analysis, or external finance teams.
• Familiarity with Xero.
