Staff OT/IT Support Engineer

What you will do

• Deploy, monitor, maintain, and secure site server cabinets, industrial network switches, patch panels, cabling, UPS equipment, and edge compute nodes.
• Install and configure switches, access points, edge firewalls, and other networking equipment with central Network and IT Security teams.
• Act as the on-site cybersecurity contact by applying secure-by-default standards, responding to security events, and overseeing vendor access.
• Manage IT/OT asset inventories, rack elevations, hardware lifecycles, endpoint equipment, and spare hardware.
• Integrate OT networks with enterprise systems in collaboration with manufacturing engineering, control systems, and corporate IT teams.
• Create end-user documentation, standard operating procedures, and site network diagrams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in technical support, IT systems administration, or site infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience supporting Windows, macOS, and basic Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with server racking, patch panels, Cat6 cabling, cable management, hardware troubleshooting, and physical site infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, and CLI configuration of network switches.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Active Directory, Okta, and endpoint management tools.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Milpitas, lift up to 50 pounds, work around laboratory or light industrial equipment, and occasionally work nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or travel.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes, AWS, vCenter, Proxmox, Postgres, and Timescale experience.
• Experience using AI tooling while identifying hallucinations.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Purdue models, SRE practices, and DevOps principles.
