Network Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Based in Chicago, New York, or London

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 base salary per year, plus potential discretionary bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Own the research/HPC, corporate/office, and production trading networks.
• Design, build, and maintain low-latency, multicast-heavy trading networks for market data distribution and exchange connectivity.
• Build and scale networks supporting GPU grids and high-performance storage clusters.
• Maintain office networks, support new office buildouts, and extend the network footprint into new regions.
• Own network monitoring and packet capture to improve visibility into network behavior, changes, and failures.
• Move network configuration and change management toward version-controlled, reviewed, and repeatable infrastructure-as-code practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional networking experience, including meaningful experience in finance.
• FinTech or HFT networking experience with complex financial and multicast networks.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and hands-on experience with PIM-SM, BGP, and VXLAN/EVPN.
• Experience with Layer 1 switching, network capture and monitoring tools, Arista EOS, and Palo Alto or comparable firewall platforms.
• Knowledge of networking merchant silicon trade-offs and basic Linux systems administration.
• Familiarity with Git, Terraform, Ansible, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate study focused on networking.
• CCNP/CCIE-level expertise or certification.
