Manager, Warehousing - Inventory Processes and Systems Optimization (WMS)

Location: Remote within the US, with required on-site work at warehouse locations for extended periods during assessment and implementation; listed locations include Chicago, Dallas, and Newark.

Salary: $110,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Assess warehouse operations and design standardized processes for receiving, put-away, counting, staging, kitting, picking, shipping, returns, and RMA handling.
• Lead requirements definition, vendor evaluation, business case development, and selection of warehouse management tooling.
• Define Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration architecture, transaction logic, master data standards, and reconciliation processes.
• Implement supplier EDI/API integrations, ASN-driven receiving, carrier tracking, automated milestone alerts, and three-way matching.
• Plan and execute pilots, configuration, testing, cutover, training, hypercare, and rollout across remaining locations.
• Lead adoption, continuous improvement, supplier onboarding, EDI compliance, reporting, and supply chain automation after go-live.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution, or logistics operations, including warehouse process design.
• Lead or core-team experience implementing a WMS, including requirements, configuration, testing, and site cutover.
• Experience converting manual processes into system-enabled processes with measurable results.
• Working knowledge of ERP-WMS integration; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Supply Chain Management is strongly preferred.
• Experience with supplier or carrier EDI/API integrations, including ASN-driven receiving, plus strong analytical and business-case skills.
• Willingness to work on-site at warehouse locations for extended periods during assessment and implementation. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.

Nice to have

• WMS implementation where no prior warehouse system was in place.
• Project-based distribution experience in audiovisual, low-voltage, construction, telecommunications, or comparable industries.
• Knowledge of EDI transaction sets 850, 855, 856, and 810, barcode, RFID, or mobile data capture deployments.
• Lean, Six Sigma, APICS CPIM, or PMP certification.
• Experience with serialized assets and customer-owned inventory.
