Senior Manager, Systems Test and Software Quality Assurance (AI Robotics)

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA (HQ); hybrid work; travel to production sites may be required up to 10%

Salary: $175,500–$257,400 base pay annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Build, mentor, and lead a team of senior system test and software quality engineers.
• Define software quality assurance vision, verification standards, quality gates, and compliance practices across software, hardware, and distributed automation platforms.
• Design and oversee site-level customer simulation environments for scale, stress, throughput, latency, availability, bottlenecks, and error-budget testing.
• Integrate automated test frameworks, emulators, virtualized harnesses, and AI-assisted tools into CI/CD, configuration management, cloud, and on-premises environments.
• Lead end-to-end testing across microservices, event-driven messaging, APIs, multi-system integrations, and customer-facing system integration testing.
• Manage phased subsystem test plans, release-readiness testing, risk assessment, defect resolution, and collaboration with Software Engineering, DevOps, Systems Architecture, and Site Operations.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of progressive quality assurance or test engineering experience, including direct management and mentoring of senior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading customer-facing system integration testing and designing realistic site-level simulation environments.
• Expertise with operational KPIs such as throughput, latency, error budgets, resource utilization, SLA/SLO performance, and release-readiness gates.
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, service-oriented architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, and messaging brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AMQP.
• Experience with test frameworks, emulators, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible, SQL, and multiple testing methodologies.
