Sr. QA Test Engineer (Quality Assurance)

Location: Remote, United States of America; listed office location: Chicago - 550 Van Buren

Base salary: $95,000–$130,000 USD annually. Total estimated compensation including annual incentive compensation: $109,250–$149,500 USD.

What you will do

• Own manual and automated testing across the software development lifecycle, including functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Design, execute, analyze, and report on JMeter performance tests, including workload modeling, capacity analysis, and bottleneck identification.
• Develop and maintain reusable Selenium automation frameworks and regression suites using Java.
• Validate databases and data integrity with SQL, including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipelines.
• Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, communicate release risks, and support issue resolution with Engineering and Product Management.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, release readiness activities, QA/UAT/production support, and continuous improvement of testing practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional QA/Test Engineering experience with both manual and automation testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with JMeter performance testing and Selenium automation using Java.
• Experience with SQL, database validation, test data, troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with AWS services including CloudWatch, EventBridge, QuickSight, Batch Jobs, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Glue, and Bedrock.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD and DevOps practices, Azure DevOps or JIRA, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Python experience for test automation, data validation, or test utilities.
• Experience testing AI-powered applications, AI-assisted testing tools, Responsible AI practices, Generative AI, LLMs, or prompt engineering.
• Exposure to AWS Bedrock, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, or similar AI platforms.
• Experience with healthcare applications, PHI/PII, healthcare data privacy and security requirements, or new product development.
• Experience integrating automated and performance tests into CI/CD pipelines or working with distributed teams.
