Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Autonomous Systems)

Software Platforms and Product organization developing large-scale testing and validation infrastructure for software and hardware systems.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of event-driven SIL/HIL tests and testing frameworks.
• Architect and manage end-to-end CI pipelines for automated regression testing.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex system-level failures using log-mining scripts, Grafana dashboards, and SQL-based notebooks.
• Analyze gaps between safety requirements and technical test implementations, including timing and prioritization patterns.
• Lead validation and clearance for safety-critical monitors such as collision detection systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small group of engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience and ownership of at least three complex projects.
• Strong Python experience for infrastructure development, tooling, and automated test writing, including AI-based coding tools.
• Deep understanding of HIL and SIL methodologies, including real-time fault injection.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated CI pipelines with tools such as Bamboo, Buildkite, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Practical knowledge of Linux internals and networking protocols used in high-throughput real-time systems.

Nice to have

• Strong C++ skills and Pytest customization experience.
• Background in autonomous systems or safety-critical robotics validation.
• Experience applying Generative AI or Machine Learning tools to code, audit, and improve test coverage and documentation.
• Experience with real-time protocols such as DDS, I2C, SPI, CAN, or GMSL2.
