Corporate Counsel III (Privacy, Digital Risk, and AI Governance)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel 1–20% within the US

Salary: $141,000–$234,000 annually

What you will do

• Advise on compliance with U.S. privacy and AI laws, HIPAA, HITECH, the EU AI Act, and recognized AI governance frameworks.
• Serve as the primary legal specialist for AI regulatory compliance while partnering on privacy compliance and digital risk oversight.
• Conduct privacy and AI impact assessments, data subject rights reviews, supplier privacy reviews, and AI use-case classification.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical policies, processes, controls, and governance workflows for AI, data, technology, and business teams.
• Advise on privacy- and AI-related incidents, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and reporting.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex privacy, AI, data processing, business associate, and technology agreement provisions.

Requirements

• Active license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with eligibility to serve as in-house counsel as required.
• Juris Doctorate.
• At least 7 years of applicable experience; relevant experience in privacy, AI, digital compliance, technology, or related regulatory matters is expected.
• Substantive knowledge of U.S. privacy and data protection laws, including HIPAA, HITECH, state privacy laws, and consumer health data requirements.
• Experience interpreting AI laws and governance frameworks and advising on AI system development, procurement, deployment, use-case risk, transparency, and human oversight.
• Experience developing or improving privacy, AI, or digital governance programs and advising cross-functional business, product, technology, AI, and data stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Privacy or AI governance certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP.
• Experience with OneTrust, Transcend, or similar privacy and AI governance platforms.
• Experience with digital accessibility, online tracking, cookies, consent requirements, and consumer-facing privacy disclosures.
