Corporate and Compliance Counsel (Healthcare)

Location: Virtual US; fully remote within the United States. Occasional travel is required for team meetings and cross-functional projects.

Base salary: $225,000–$265,000 annually, plus a 15% target annual bonus. Compensation varies by US labor market and experience.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with health systems, physician practices, imaging providers, payors, channel partners, and vendors.
• Manage research and clinical agreements, including clinical trial, research grant, investigator-initiated, core lab services, and data licensing agreements.
• Advise commercial, scientific affairs, regulatory, and executive stakeholders on healthcare laws, regulatory guidance, industry codes, and healthcare professional relationships.
• Counsel internal teams on privacy and data protection matters involving HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, product development, research collaborations, and commercial relationships.
• Develop and implement healthcare compliance, privacy management, and data governance policies and scalable contracting processes.
• Partner with information security on data security initiatives, risk management, audits, vendor assessments, and cybersecurity or privacy incident preparedness.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active state bar admission.
• At least 8 years of relevant legal and compliance experience in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Healthcare industry experience is required, particularly in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, diagnostics, digital health, or other regulated healthcare businesses.
• Experience combining major law firm and in-house work, including healthcare regulatory counseling and commercial contracting.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, healthcare fraud and abuse laws, FDA promotional requirements, HIPAA, transparency, privacy, and healthcare professional interactions.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, provide practical legal recommendations, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Nice to have

• In-house experience at a healthcare technology, medical device, diagnostic, digital health, or other regulated healthcare company.
