Portfolio Analyst (AI)

Location: 100% remote; in-person collaboration at least once a year.

What you will do

• Develop working knowledge of the foundation’s grantmaking priorities and the role of data and AI in social good.
• Conduct field sensing, landscape analysis, and research on developments in AI and data science.
• Research and engage potential nonprofit and civil society grant partners, including early-stage conversations.
• Perform due diligence and prepare clear, evidence-based recommendations for funding decisions.
• Analyze grant outcomes, synthesize lessons, and develop portfolio retrospectives and strategic insights.
• Support collaboration, shared learning, and team systems for effective grantmaking.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in consulting, business analysis, strategy, investing, or a similar role requiring rapid learning and sound judgment.
• Ability to use AI tools for research, analysis, and synthesis while evaluating and verifying their outputs.
• Ability to understand AI concepts sufficiently to engage credibly with organizations building or deploying AI.
• Strong analytical synthesis, written communication, relationship management, and stakeholder judgment.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with leadership and teammates.
