ABAP BTP Engineer (SAP)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; 70% in-office work model. Only U.S. persons are eligible due to U.S. export control requirements.

Salary: $109,200–$174,600 per year, with potential discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support SAP solutions across ABAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and related extensibility frameworks.
• Develop ABAP reports, interfaces, enhancements, APIs, workflows, BADIs, BAPIs, user exits, forms, and object-oriented components.
• Build cloud-native applications and integrations using Business Application Studio, HANA Cloud, Integration Suite, Workflow, Event Mesh, APIs, middleware, and event-driven architecture.
• Create scalable, role-based SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 user experiences while applying clean-core and side-by-side extension principles.
• Support SAP Joule and SAP Business AI use cases by integrating backend services and enterprise content with appropriate security, governance, and business context.
• Collaborate with architects, functional teams, project teams, and business stakeholders on solution design, delivery, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of SAP development experience, including deep ABAP expertise and at least 3+ years of SAP BTP development and extensibility.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, RICEFW objects, object-oriented development, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and SAP BTP services.
• Knowledge of SAP Business AI capabilities including SAP Joule, Joule Studio, AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, prompt design, enterprise-data grounding, security, privacy, authorization, and responsible AI use.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, integration, technical delivery, solution review, debugging, and documentation skills.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control rules; non-U.S. persons cannot be sponsored for an export control license.

• Experience in an FDA-regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
