Desktop Engineer

Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom; fully office-based with regular travel to regional sites

Salary: £29,600–£32,600 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical support for end-user equipment while meeting service levels and response times.
• Build, configure, deploy, and maintain PCs, thin clients, scanners, industrial printers, mobile devices, and handheld terminals.
• Manage hardware lifecycles, including software configuration, remote deployment, and secure end-of-life deprovisioning.
• Support technology projects across warehouse and satellite locations in collaboration with internal Tech teams.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, own ITSM tickets, and escalate major incidents and P1 issues.

Requirements

• Experience supporting Windows, macOS, ThinOS, and ChromeOS in a large corporate environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, SCCM, JAMF, WMS, PowerShell, Google Admin, SureMDM, or Active Directory.
• Understanding of desktop hardware, peripherals, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Strong customer service, communication, workload management, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to regional sites and work planned overtime when required.
