Infrastructure and Network Engineer

Location: Cambridge, England, United Kingdom; on-site at the Cambridge office. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Run and develop networks covering segmentation, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Maintain Linux servers, storage, backups, and regular restore testing.
• Design and implement new network infrastructure and expansions.
• Manage Google single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, access reviews, internal domains, DNS, and certificates.
• Write Python and Bash tooling and manage infrastructure as code to automate routine tasks.
• Handle day-to-day security operations and support incident response and recovery.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in infrastructure or network engineering.
• Strong Linux system administration experience, ideally with Debian- and Red Hat-based systems.
• Knowledge of ZFS, NFS, network equipment, switching, VLANs, routing, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible or Terraform, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with Google Workspace SSO using SAML or OIDC, SCIM provisioning, MFA, and security keys.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and availability for on-site work in Cambridge are required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and building networks from scratch.
• Experience with open-source monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
