Endpoint and Workplace Engineer

Location: Cambridge, England, United Kingdom; Workplace: On-site. This is a full-time role based in the Cambridge office. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Manage Linux, macOS, and Windows laptops and mobile devices, including security baselines, zero-touch setup, and compliance.
• Administer Google Workspace and SaaS tools, including licences, renewals, sharing, retention, and single sign-on.
• Handle onboarding and offboarding by preparing equipment, accounts, desks, and access changes.
• Write Python and Bash tooling and work with the Infrastructure and Network Engineer to automate administration.
• Set up and maintain desks, meeting-room AV, video conferencing equipment, and workplace peripherals.
• Run the IT support channel and knowledge base, maintain the application register, and support endpoint and SaaS security.

Requirements

• Several years of engineering experience managing mixed Linux, macOS, and Windows fleets.
• Linux experience, ideally with Debian- and Red Hat-based systems.
• Programming experience with Python and Bash, plus APIs and Git.
• Experience administering Google Workspace or a similar platform and managing SaaS single sign-on.
• A security-minded approach, preference for open-source and scriptable tools, and strong documentation habits.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience working in hardware or technology companies.
