Manager - Private Equity Fund Accounting

Location: Hybrid role based in New York, NY; Boston, MA; or Union, NJ, United States

Base salary: $78,000–$165,000 per year in New Jersey and New York; $115,000–$165,000 per year in Massachusetts. Additional discretionary bonus and/or equity may be available.

What you will do

• Manage private equity fund client relationships and deliver fund accounting and reporting outputs on schedule.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, accruals, valuation adjustments, investor allocations, and management fee calculations.
• Review governing documents, financial statements, supporting schedules, disclosures, and workpaper files.
• Build and maintain distribution waterfall models in line with fund terms.
• Coordinate year-end audits, tax reporting support, timelines, and deliverables with clients, auditors, and internal teams.
• Lead, coach, and develop junior staff while contributing to performance reviews and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds, private equity, or fund of funds.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, especially investment partnerships.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and project management skills.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• CPA designation.
• Experience with Sungard Investran.
• Experience supervising junior professionals and participating in hiring and termination decisions.
