Business Performance Improvement - Technical Accounting Senior Manager

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person work in local hirify.global offices and on client sites with remote work; travel may include local or out-of-state client engagements. hirify.global is not registered to hire or employ personnel in West Virginia or Alaska.

Salary: $131,000–$209,000 annually, plus a 14% bonus target. Estimated total cash range: $149,340–$238,260.

What you will do

• Lead technical accounting and financial reporting engagements for public and private companies, including companies preparing for public registration.
• Evaluate and issue US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting position papers, including guidance for Forms S-1, S-3, and S-4.
• Identify business risks and technical accounting issues, develop work plans, analyze findings, and deliver client recommendations.
• Manage project activities, deliverables, budgets, and engagement teams while mentoring team members and supporting their professional development.
• Improve financial reporting, close, consolidation, disclosure, and order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire, and record-to-report processes.
• Build senior client relationships, contribute to proposals and business development, and expand the professional network.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant experience across consulting, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal audit, or assurance.
• Experience with technical accounting research, accounting position papers, SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, consolidations, and restatements.
• Experience with accounting pronouncement transitions, including lease accounting, revenue recognition, and CECL, as well as public company readiness.
• Experience leading teams, managing project delivery and budgets, evaluating data, and cultivating relationships with senior executives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Visio and Access is also relevant. CPA license is strongly preferred.
