Costs Negotiator - Complex Injury

What you will do

• Manage an independent caseload of costs matters through settlement or assessment.
• Review, assess, and negotiate costs claims arising from complex employers’ liability, public liability, and road traffic accident injury claims.
• Prepare Points of Dispute, consider replies, and progress matters through provisional and detailed assessment.
• Draft costs budgets, Budget Discussion Reports, Precedent Ts, and costs strategy reports.
• Review files, set case strategy, identify strengths and weaknesses, and prepare or oppose relevant applications.
• Provide clear client advice, maintain updates, and negotiate positive commercial outcomes while meeting deadlines and service-level agreements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in costs negotiation and managing an independent caseload.
• Experience preparing Points of Dispute, considering replies, and progressing matters toward provisional and detailed assessment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident telephone negotiation.
• Previous client liaison experience and the ability to provide clear advice.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation, decision-making, initiative, and collaborative working skills.
• A degree, LPC, ALCD, equivalent qualification, or advocacy experience would be advantageous.
