Engagement Letter Lawyer, Contracts (Legal Tech)

What you will do

• Review, negotiate, and finalise engagement letters using client playbooks and agreed turnaround times.
• Act as the day-to-day contact for clients, counterparties, and engagement letter matters.
• Resolve client queries and negotiation issues without escalation where possible.
• Update client playbooks with negotiated positions and fallback terms.
• Support the wider Contracts team with NDAs and other routine commercial contracts.
• Use AI-backed legal tools, provide product feedback, and share knowledge with paralegals and junior lawyers.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience with independent negotiation of engagement letters and similar pre-M&A contracts.
• Qualified to practise law in the UK, Europe, US, or Canada.
• Experience working with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms.
• Commercially minded, client-focused, and able to provide clear, practical advice.
• Comfortable using AI-backed legal tools and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ownership, prioritisation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
