EHS Compliance Specialist

Location: Onsite in Suffolk, Virginia, United States of America

Salary: $77,270–$113,322, plus discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Maintain compliance with air, water, waste, permit, license, and other environmental requirements.
• Support environmental permitting for construction projects and prepare required permits, licenses, approvals, and reports.
• Monitor technical systems and collect environmental data for site permits and sustainability metrics.
• Maintain environmental records, reports, KPI tracking, and trend analysis for waste, water, and energy consumption.
• Assist with regulatory agency activities, inspections, and environmental compliance reviews.
• Coordinate off-site shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, prepare the Biennial Waste Report, and identify waste cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or another relevant science discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial environmental systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations covering air, water, waste, EPCRA, pollution control, remediation technology, and environmental auditing.
• Experience with environmental systems and environmental report generation, including air and water permits.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills, spreadsheet work, and Access database management.
• Experience with DOT and RCRA requirements, emergency response, and spill cleanup.

Nice to have

• Experience with PI Datalink.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, groundwater management, and SARA 311/312/313 chemical inventory requirements.
• Knowledge of the Responsible Care Management System.
