Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Assistant

Location: Waco, Texas, United States; onsite plant role

Salary: $45,000–$70,000 annually, plus an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Support plant environmental, health, safety, and risk-management programs.
• Promote a zero-injury culture through training, accountability, behavioral-based safety initiatives, and employee engagement.
• Assist with OSHA compliance, inspections, recordkeeping, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
• Maintain environmental permits and support air, water, stormwater, waste, and recycling programs.
• Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR on continuous improvement, capital projects, and operational changes.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to a high school diploma; some college training preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work flexible hours or overtime when needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with OSHA and environmental compliance programs is required; manufacturing, paper, packaging, corrugated, or industrial EHS experience is preferred.
