Construction Safety Specialist (Commercial & Infrastructure)

Location: Los Lunas, New Mexico, United States; onsite field and office work required

What you will do

• Monitor large-scale construction operations for compliance with OSHA and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Apply NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI standards to active field operations.
• Develop, execute, and maintain site-specific Project Safety Roadmaps.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage injury and illness cases, including documentation, medical coordination, and return-to-work protocols.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety coaching, hazard recognition assessments, and support CPR/First Aid training.

Requirements

• Current BCSP certification required, such as CHST, ASP, CSP, SMS, or OHST.
• At least 3 years of construction safety experience on large-scale, non-residential projects; residential experience does not qualify.
• Valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record required; MVR check applies.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, walk on uneven terrain, climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical utility, substation, transmission, or commercial electrical safety.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or Business.
• CPR/First Aid Trainer certification.
