SOX Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote-first within the United States; applicants must already have authorization to work in the United States. Office spaces are available in San Jose, California, and Draper, Utah.

Salary: $97,200–$142,500 USD annually, depending on geographic zone and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead the annual SOX Section 404 compliance lifecycle for business processes and IT application controls.
• Perform risk assessments, define scope, document narratives and flowcharts, maintain risk and control matrices, and coordinate testing.
• Partner with management, control owners, Internal Audit, and external auditors on walkthroughs, evidence gathering, and SOX matters.
• Evaluate control deficiencies, develop remediation plans, and track resolution progress.
• Identify opportunities to rationalize controls, automate compliance activities, and improve the use of GRC tools.
• Assess SOX impacts of new financial systems, workflow changes, and corporate transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, audit, advisory, fintech, or a similar industry, focused on SOX 404 audits and ICFR.
• Deep knowledge of SOX Section 404, the COSO framework, and PCAOB auditing standards.
• Experience evaluating controls in major ERP and enterprise systems; NetSuite experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, project leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
