Senior Manager, Finance - Commissions (SaaS)

What you will do

• Lead monthly and quarterly commission accounting close activities, including accruals, amortization of capitalized commissions, and balance sheet reconciliations under US GAAP and ASC 606.
• Partner with Sales Operations, Revenue, FP&A, Legal, Payroll, and HR to translate compensation plans into accounting outcomes and operational processes.
• Administer and optimize the Varicent incentive compensation platform, including configuration, data integrity, user access, ITGC controls, automation, and integrations.
• Design and maintain SOX-compliant controls over commission calculations, data inputs, and accounting entries, and support internal and external audits.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of three commission accounting professionals, including team members in international locations.
• Drive special projects, system implementations, and cross-functional initiatives supporting growth and international expansion.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant commission accounting experience in a SaaS or subscription-based environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX compliance, including capitalization and amortization of sales commissions.
• 3+ years of people management experience with a record of coaching and developing teams.
• Experience with incentive compensation platforms such as Varicent, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar tools, including implementation and requirements definition.
• Project management experience and advanced NetSuite GL functionality.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills.
