Systems Administrator (Government)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States; office presence required a minimum of 5 days per week. This position is only available at the posted location, and no relocation is offered.

Salary: $89,200–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Administer Linux and/or Windows systems, including availability, backup and restore, configuration changes, patching, and maintenance of physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Support VMware environments, virtual machines, NAS and SAN storage, servers, workstations, printers, and data, voice, and video network components.
• Install and maintain software releases, configure server hardware and network interfaces, and build system configurations for software distribution.
• Provide technical support for development, test, and production environments while responding to alerts and resolving system issues.
• Perform capacity planning, system tuning, problem analysis, hardware and software upgrades, testing, and system acceptance activities.
• Develop administration policies, documentation, procedures, training guidance, and system configurations in collaboration with clients, vendors, programmers, and network teams.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• At least three years of experience as a Systems Administrator on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline; a developer nanodegree or equivalent work experience may qualify.
• Knowledge of VMware, virtual machine administration, NAS and SAN hardware, system administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance.
• Must work onsite in Columbia, Maryland at least five days per week; relocation is not offered.
