Senior Digital & Technology Risk Manager (Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week

Base salary: £86,000–£130,000 per year for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design and evolve the AI risk framework, governance model, control objectives, KPIs and KRIs.
• Develop, maintain and improve AI risk policies, standards and methodologies in line with operational risk governance and regulatory expectations.
• Provide independent Second Line of Defence oversight and constructive challenge of First Line AI risk practices, controls and governance.
• Lead risk-based thematic reviews and deep dives into material AI risk exposures, identifying deficiencies and escalating significant concerns.
• Advise senior management, Business Units and governance functions on AI risk exposure, risk acceptance and emerging developments.
• Prepare decision-relevant reporting and assess risks from generative AI, agentic AI, autonomous systems and AI-enabled business processes.

Requirements

• At least seven years of relevant experience in operational risk, technology risk, AI governance, risk advisory or assurance.
• Experience with independent risk assessment, oversight and credible challenge, preferably in a Second Line of Defence function.
• Experience developing or reviewing enterprise policies, standards or risk management methodologies.
• Practical understanding of AI technologies, including generative and agentic AI, associated risks, governance and controls.
• Ability to lead risk assessments or thematic reviews, exercise independent judgement and communicate actionable conclusions.
• Excellent written and spoken English required. An academic qualification in a relevant discipline is expected.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as IAPP AIGP, CRISC, CISA or CISSP.
• Experience in financial services, insurance or reinsurance, including work with regulators, auditors or industry bodies.
• Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a collaborative, curious mindset.
