Senior Automation Engineer - IT Asset Management (AI)

Location: US-based, with positions in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington, and Mountain View and San Francisco, California; West Coast preferred

Salary: $121,800–$197,100 USD annually, depending on pay zone and location

What you will do

• Build end-to-end automation for assigning, configuring, and shipping laptops to new hires.
• Automate SaaS license monitoring, seat clawbacks, renewal alerts, and cost optimization workflows.
• Automate CMDB and inventory reconciliation, deduplication, and multi-device detection.
• Automate hardware recovery from departing employees and improve chain-of-custody compliance.
• Expand automation into IT support, AV/VC and event support, and incident response management.
• Collaborate with IT operations, security, procurement, finance, and vendors while documenting solutions and training peers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, automation engineering, or a related technical role.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-system automation projects with measurable business impact.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered workflows, agents, or operational tools using technologies such as Claude, GPT, or Gemini.
• Experience integrating ITSM, identity, and asset management platforms, including REST APIs and scripting with Python, Bash, or similar.
• Ability to work independently, solve ambiguous problems, learn unfamiliar domains, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in the United States; West Coast location preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, data lakehouse architectures, or SQL-based analytics platforms.
• Experience with IT asset management or SaaS management tools such as Oomnitza, Productiv, or Zluri.
• Experience with no-code or low-code automation platforms such as Tines or Workato.
• Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management frameworks.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL, or data quality workflows.
