Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Brooklyn, NY, USA; candidates must be within commuting distance of the Williamsburg, Brooklyn office.

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 USD annual base salary, with potential equity and bonus or variable compensation depending on the role.

What you will do

• Work directly with customers to understand workflows, identify pain points, and turn insights into product opportunities.
• Partner with product and design to form hypotheses, define experiments, and decide what to build based on customer evidence.
• Take new product surfaces from concept and prototype through launch, adoption, and ongoing measurement.
• Build AI-native products using LLMs, agents, retrieval, evaluations, and modern AI tooling.
• Own architecture, instrumentation, telemetry, and end-to-end customer outcomes.
• Lead, mentor, and set technical standards for engineers working on complex product initiatives.

Requirements

• Production experience deploying code and services to cloud-hosted environments.
• Experience delivering incremental releases from proof of concept through MVP and production.
• Experience working independently on large, complex problems and leading other engineers on complex projects.
• Strong commitment to engineering excellence, clean code, knowledge-sharing, and practical iterative delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup from within commuting distance of the Williamsburg, Brooklyn office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python machine learning toolsets such as NumPy, Pandas, or Dedupe.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
