Commercial Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the full commercial contracting lifecycle for global customer relationships.
• Build and maintain the commercial legal playbook, including templates, fallback positions, approval thresholds, and escalation paths.
• Create contractual frameworks for new products and markets and templates for partnerships with local financial institutions.
• Build and manage a Contract Management System and develop AI workflows for contract review, issue lists, and clause comparison.
• Advise on deal structure, pricing, fees, service levels, liability, indemnity, settlement, and funds-flow mechanics.
• Partner with Regulatory Legal, Compliance, and Product while serving as lead counsel to the global Go to Market team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience, including substantial commercial legal work in fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Experience in-house at a high-growth company, at a top-tier firm, or both.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for cross-border payments and digital assets, including money transmission, e-money, MiCA, and stablecoins.
• J.D. or equivalent with active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, devise creative solutions, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
