Windchill Java Developer

What you will do

• Design and develop advanced Java customizations in Windchill, including services, listeners, processors, validators, helpers, workflows, and robot delegates.
• Extend the Windchill data model with custom types, attributes, and relationships using Type and Attribute Management.
• Build JSP and HTML extensions such as custom tables, actions, and wizard pages.
• Develop asynchronous queues and background processes, and optimize customizations through profiling, query tuning, and caching.
• Lead migrations from legacy customizations to modern PTC-supported patterns while maintaining reversible, monitored cutovers.
• Conduct code and design reviews, support production incidents, maintain technical documentation, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10 or more years of Java development experience with a strong focus on Windchill customization.
• Deep hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API, customization frameworks, data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong object-oriented Java design, performance engineering, troubleshooting, SQL, and documentation skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, client-side Windchill customization, Type and Attribute Management, and Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting Windchill upgrades.

Nice to have

• PTC Windchill development certification.
• PTC ThingWorx development experience.
• Windchill RV&S customization experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill and operating Windchill in the cloud.
