Project Manager (Agile)

Location: Remote within Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia, US, with in-person meetings at government offices in the Washington, D.C. area approximately once per quarter. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead daily project management activities, communication, task alignment, and timely delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Office of Head Start Communications Team.
• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholder relationships.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
• Maintain project schedules, work plans, timelines, risk registers, and delivery documentation.
• Drive process improvements, escalate issues, and support transparent client reporting and decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant project management experience.
• Experience managing Office of Head Start and federal government contracts.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum Master or Agile Coach responsibilities.
• Experience managing complex, multifaceted projects and using project management software to plan, track, and report work.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, diplomacy, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to support mission-critical systems with 24/7 availability needs and obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Certified Scrum Master certification.
• PMP certification.
