Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office

Annual salary: £130,000–£150,000 GBP, depending on skills and experience

What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Set technical direction, own outcomes, and support fast delivery.
• Build reliable, scalable, and secure systems for a global audience.
• Guide architecture decisions and remove delivery blockers.
• Coach engineers, hire and develop talent, and support promotions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to turn product ideas into working health products.

Requirements

• 6+ years of coding experience with Scala, Java, Kotlin, or Objective-C/Swift.
• Experience building distributed systems at scale.
• 4+ years of experience managing engineers and leading teams.
• Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and building inclusive engineering cultures.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and agile delivery.
• Strong product mindset and focus on user outcomes.

Nice to have

• Exposure to ML or data-powered products.
• Full-stack experience.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
• Background in consumer technology or mobile apps.
• Knowledge of A/B testing.
