Engineering Manager

What you will do

• Co-own the product roadmap with the Product Manager, balancing delivery, quality, and technical health.
• Own delivery health, predictability, throughput, and the quality of shipped work.
• Maintain technical accountability for architecture, SLOs, operational health, and technical trade-offs.
• Read code, review pull requests, and pair-program with engineers while mentoring the team.
• Manage, coach, develop, and hire engineers from sourcing through to offer acceptance.
• Set team goals, manage the team budget, plan headcount, and drive adoption of AI tooling and practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing engineers, ideally in a product-led organisation.
• Track record of owning delivery outcomes rather than only team happiness and processes.
• Ability to manage people leadership and technical accountability simultaneously.
• Ability to read and understand code across the team’s primary stack.
• Ability to pair-program effectively and provide technically credible pull request feedback.
• Experience or strong enthusiasm for hiring, budget ownership, SLOs, and operational metrics.
