R&D Engineer

Location: United States; based in Portland, Tennessee. Occasional travel with overnight stays is required.

Gastite, part of hirify.global, develops fuel gas piping systems, tubing, fittings, regulators, and accessories for residential and commercial construction.

What you will do

• Design and develop products and product families for residential and commercial construction.
• Organize and lead stage-gate projects from concept through market introduction.
• Evaluate product designs and processes for performance and functionality.
• Create concepts and prototypes using SolidWorks, 3-D printing, machine shops, and production teams.
• Conduct laboratory testing for design verification, validation, and product performance.
• Communicate with internal teams and customers while managing multiple assignments and meeting safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of internship, co-op, or professional experience.
• Experience with 3-D solid modeling CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience with finite element analysis, preferably SolidWorks Simulation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, laboratory and measuring equipment, and technical drawings.
• Project leadership, teamwork, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Nice to have

• Three to five years of related experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
