Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Robotics)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite role with intermittent overnight travel to client facilities; international travel requires a valid passport. Must be authorized to work legally in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Develop automation solutions that support strategic logistics applications and the Plus One product offering.
• Manage solution ideation, mechanical design, technical communication, and handoff activities.
• Work with sales teams and customers to assess application value, feasibility, requirements, and technical constraints.
• Perform site surveys, create site-specific fitment designs, and define product configurations for operations and ordering.
• Import and review integrator CAD files, identify fitment challenges, and create custom mechanical solutions and 3D prototypes.
• Support pre-sales demonstrations, proof-of-concept scoping, technical Q&A, installation guidance, and resolution of technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks and PDM, AutoCAD, Visual Components, and CAD importation and manipulation.
• Experience creating system architectures for automated equipment in the supply chain industry.
• Ability to communicate mechanical requirements and installation considerations to internal teams, customers, installers, and integrators.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Availability for a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Nice to have

• Business development or customer relations experience.
• Ability to review mechanical, electrical, and system-level schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with system cost estimation, resource planning, equipment setup, configuration, and commissioning.
• Experience with industrial robots, peripherals, and safety devices.
• PE, PMP, Six Sigma, or Agile certification.
