Sr Counsel, Claim

Location: Hybrid, PA - Blue Bell, United States

Salary: $132,800–$219,100 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently handle higher-exposure cases and complex insurance defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, court events, and other required appointments.
• Analyze cases and recommend file-handling strategies to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Develop case strategies with expert witnesses and consultants, manage client relationships, provide legal training, and mentor attorneys and legal support staff.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Active law license in good standing in the state or states where representation is required.
• Proven experience handling jury trials, hearings, dispositive motions, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy, legal research, negotiation, case analysis, and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license required depending on the location; ability to travel to court and other appointments is required.
