Major Case Specialist - Auto Liability

Location: Hybrid role in Diamond Bar, California, with San Diego listed as another location; United States

Annual base salary: $99,100–$163,400. Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

What you will do

• Manage complex, high-exposure bodily injury and property damage claims and related litigation from first notice of loss through resolution.
• Investigate claims, gather evidence, assess liability and damages, and establish appropriate reserves.
• Evaluate coverage, contractual indemnity issues, documentation, and resolution options.
• Negotiate with claimants, legal representatives, and other parties while developing advanced resolution strategies.
• Partner with counsel, legal, underwriting, and other departments on claim handling and litigation management.
• Prepare reports for senior management, maintain accurate claim records, and support improvements to claims practices and technology implementation, including AI tools.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the hybrid California arrangement associated with Diamond Bar, with San Diego also listed as a location.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred for the ideal candidate.
• At least four years of bodily injury liability, property damage liability, or comparable claims experience; five-plus years of complex bodily injury claim and litigation experience is preferred.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law, with relevant insurance licenses maintained within three months of starting.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and enterprise technology skills, including claims management and estimating software.
• Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, insurance regulations, fair claims practices, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
