Platform Engineering Architect (AI)

Location: Hoofddorp, North Holland, Netherlands; partially remote

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and evolution of enterprise platforms spanning hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, internal developer platforms, AI/GPU infrastructure, automation, and developer self-service.
• Transform complex infrastructure capabilities into standardized, reusable, governed, and self-service platforms.
• Design reusable automation for infrastructure provisioning and Day-2 operations using Ansible, Terraform, VMware automation tools, Chef, AWS, and ServiceNow.
• Build enterprise CI/CD and application lifecycle architectures with immutable deployments, ephemeral environments, automated rollback, and multi-environment promotion.
• Design AI-powered and agentic automation solutions using RAG, operational data, SOPs, tool integration, and contextual decision-making.
• Establish architecture standards and reference patterns while coordinating with engineering, application, cloud, security, and operations teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud automation, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale platforms and automation frameworks, including internal developer platforms or developer portals.
• Strong Kubernetes and cloud-native architecture experience, including AKS, VKS, Docker, and OpenShift.
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, VMware vSphere, vRA, vRO, and Aria.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, GitOps, immutable deployments, multi-environment promotion, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Shell.
• Experience with AI infrastructure, multimodal or agentic AI, GPU platforms, LangChain, or LangGraph.
