Lead Principal Solution Architect (Banking)

Location: Amsterdam, EMEA. Significant travel is required, especially during project inception and key program milestones.

What you will do

• Lead architecture for the region’s largest and most complex banking programs.
• Translate business objectives into secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable technical architectures.
• Define target states, transition paths, integration approaches, and key architectural trade-offs.
• Own the architecture story throughout discovery, pre-sales, contracting, and delivery milestones.
• Support implementation teams through design reviews, reference architectures, and escalation handling.
• Create reusable reference designs and patterns, and represent hirify.global architecture in senior customer, partner, and analyst discussions.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of hands-on experience designing large Java platforms in production.
• Strong experience with Spring, Maven, modern CI/CD tooling, service-oriented architecture, and microservices.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, REST APIs, RAML, and/or OpenAPI.
• Deep experience with enterprise integration patterns and integration frameworks.
• Operational expertise across application servers, databases, load balancers, and high-availability deployment infrastructure.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate with senior engineers and C-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering solutions for large financial services organizations, especially retail or commercial banking.
• Production experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CQRS, event sourcing, event-driven integration, API gateways, integration platforms, and identity systems in banking.
• Speaking or publishing experience on banking architecture topics.
