Head of Claims - Europe (Cyber Insurance)

Location: Based in one of the offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Munich or Brussels, with regular office attendance and travel across Europe

hirify.global is a European cyber insurer combining insurance coverage, continuous monitoring and an in-house CERT for incident response.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of cyber claims handlers across European markets.
• Manage complex cyber claims from first notification through settlement, including coverage decisions, negotiations, reserves and payments.
• Interpret policy wordings and calculate or validate quantum for business interruption, incident response costs and third-party liability.
• Appoint and oversee loss adjusters, forensic experts, external counsel and incident response providers.
• Work with the CERT, underwriting and product teams to improve incident response, risk selection and policy wordings.
• Present claims developments, large losses and portfolio trends to senior management, brokers, reinsurers and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing upper-middle-market and large corporate claims across Europe or internationally.
• Proven cyber claims experience, including policy interpretation, settlement leadership, work with loss adjusters and quantum calculation.
• Experience leading or mentoring claims professionals and managing demanding portfolios.
• Legal background through a law degree or legal practice.
• Fluent English plus fluency in at least one other European language; French, Spanish or German are preferred.
• Working knowledge of GDPR breach notification, NIS2 and DORA requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in D&O, professional indemnity, financial institutions or property claims.
• Additional European languages.
