Director, Law Enforcement & Critical Harms Operations

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday and optional presence Monday and Friday

Salary: $243,830–$299,630 USD base pay annually

What you will do

• Lead Law Enforcement Operations, Critical Harms Investigations & Incident Management, and Critical Harms Product Support.
• Manage and coach teams while delivering operational service-level and quality metrics.
• Coordinate responses to high-risk safety incidents, provide real-time leadership communications, and drive root cause analyses.
• Partner with Legal, Public Policy, Engineering, Product, Communications, and Safety teams on regulatory workflows and operational tooling.
• Respond to law enforcement emergencies, platform safety escalations, and critical harms abuse reports.
• Identify and implement strategic improvements to internal and external safety practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years leading safety operations in law enforcement, intelligence, government, or trust and safety.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. and international law enforcement response frameworks, including the Stored Communications Act, CLOUD Act, emergency disclosures, and cross-border constraints.
• Experience leading high-pressure, sensitive, and complex investigations.
• Experience managing high-volume operations queues and creating standard operating procedures, training programs, quality assurance frameworks, and operational dashboards.
• Subject-matter expertise in child safety laws, policies, and considerations.
• Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, judgment, resilience, and integrity.
