Senior Software Development Engineer (Big Data)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions

Salary: $164,400–$262,600 annually in specified states, or $156,200–$249,400 annually in another listed group of states. The role may also include equity awards.

What you will do

• Architect and implement secure, observable, scalable data pipelines and services for large, diverse datasets.
• Design and optimize data models, storage patterns, and processing frameworks for high-volume real-time and batch workloads.
• Lead technical and code reviews, establish Big Data engineering practices, and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, data science, and platform engineering teams to deliver production-grade data solutions and APIs.
• Build automated testing, monitoring, and alerting to improve reliability, data quality, and incident response.
• Build the company context layer and agentic platform tools, authentication, and APIs used across hirify.global.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on data-intensive or distributed systems.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production data pipelines and platforms.
• Experience with modern Big Data, streaming, and/or cloud-native technologies.
• Experience collaborating with product, analytics, and data science partners on scalable data solutions.
• Hands-on experience building agentic solutions or using major AI and internal platform tools.
