Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote, with travel to Los Angeles as needed, usually quarterly, plus offsites.

Salary: $157,250–$230,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Shape company-wide product and technical strategy with product, design, and engineering leaders.
• Build consumer experiences that explain how hirify.global can help clients and keep them engaged.
• Improve intake experiences and ML-based systems that match clients with the right lawyers.
• Develop scalable software and workflows for network attorneys and the in-house law firm.
• Build AI-native products that replace inefficient manual legal work with scalable workflows.
• Lead projects, ship high-impact work, and develop other engineers while operating with substantial independence.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building full-stack production systems with modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Ability to partner closely with product and design to clarify requirements and deliver user-focused solutions.
• Strong judgment around code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Comfort owning production services, including deployment, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Next.js, TypeScript, Temporal, GCP, or Terraform.
• Experience building software for legal, healthcare, financial services, or other industries with complex workflows.
• Interest in internal tooling, developer experience, or team processes.
