Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with a London office and WeWork access available.

Salary: £150,000 annually, based on London; compensation may vary by location.

What you will do

• Own major product areas from discovery and scoping through launch, iteration, and impact measurement.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and data specialists to shape the roadmap and identify simple paths to user value.
• Build full-stack features with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, including APIs and PostgreSQL data models on AWS.
• Develop AI-powered experiences such as automated chat, creator content tools, moderation, and recommendations.
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions, build reusable product primitives, and maintain quality and reliability through incident response.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and pairing while contributing to team standards for AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience and a strong record of shipping user-facing products used by millions.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with solid experience in APIs, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Experience building LLM API integrations and AI-powered features in production.
• Strong product sense and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and communicating effectively with engineering, design, product, and commercial teams.
• Comfort with hands-on engineering, product ownership, incident response, and accountability for quality and reliability.
