Location: Washington, D.C. / Northern Virginia, hybrid

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Serve as the senior advisor on Department of State missions, organizational priorities, technology strategy, and operational challenges.
• Provide institutional insight into DoS bureaus, leadership dynamics, decision-making processes, funding priorities, and technology investments.
• Identify mission needs, modernization initiatives, cybersecurity priorities, and enterprise transformation opportunities.
• Translate diplomatic, consular, security, intelligence, and enterprise requirements into actionable technology strategies.
• Advise growth, capture, solution, and technical teams on acquisition strategies, procurement timelines, customer priorities, and competitive positioning.
• Participate in customer meetings, RFIs, white papers, solution development, proposals, and classified engagements.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant federal government, national security, diplomatic, technology leadership, or mission-support experience.
• Significant direct experience working within or supporting the U.S. Department of State across multiple bureaus, organizations, or mission areas.
• Deep knowledge of DoS missions, organizational structures, leadership priorities, operational environments, and technology landscape.
• Experience with federal technology acquisition, budgeting, requirements development, procurement, cybersecurity, cloud computing, enterprise infrastructure, application modernization, AI/ML, and data analytics.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• Ability to participate in classified customer engagements and operate in classified environments is required.

Nice to have

• Current or former senior Department of State Civil Service, Foreign Service, Diplomatic Security, or technology/program leader.
• Previous GS-15, Senior Foreign Service, Senior Executive Service, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Established relationships across multiple DoS bureaus, mission organizations, and technology leadership communities.
• Experience supporting domestic and overseas Department of State operations or classified national security missions.
• Experience with strategic planning, technology investment decisions, enterprise modernization, or cross-bureau initiatives.
