Systems Software Engineer

Location: Chicago, hybrid with at least 3 days onsite per week; open to candidates currently located in the Greater Chicago area

Salary: USD $65,000–$75,000 per year

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and support software solutions in enterprise customer environments.
• Design and recommend system architectures and deployment models.
• Provide technical support for system integration, databases, licensing, infrastructure, and production environments.
• Develop automation scripts for deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Deliver customer administration and technical training.
• Support pre-sales and post-sales engagements, including evaluations, proofs of concept, installations, and collaboration with engineering, support, and customer success teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in system administration, software deployment, infrastructure support, or database administration.
• Experience with virtualized environments and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, software, database, and cloud topics and interact directly with customers.
• Eligible candidates must currently be located in the Greater Chicago area and able to work onsite at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise software deployment and support.
• Knowledge of automation platforms and workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Previous customer-facing or consulting experience.
