Cloud Database Administrator Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Charlotte, NC; hybrid schedule with three onsite days per week

What you will do

• Manage and modernize enterprise database systems across AWS cloud and on-premises environments.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing database solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions using Db2 HADR, Q Replication, and SQL Server Always On.
• Lead large-scale database migration and modernization initiatives.
• Automate database infrastructure and operations using Infrastructure as Code and scripting.
• Support mission-critical payment systems, mentor team members, and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL, Db2, and AWS cloud services.
• Extensive experience with Db2 LUW, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS cloud-native database platforms.
• Expertise in automation, Terraform, and scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• 10+ years of enterprise database administration and engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Charlotte three days per week and adapt to changing onsite requirements.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Database Specialty or Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with Azure database services, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or cloud-native database solutions.
• Knowledge of Splunk, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Experience in regulated financial environments and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS and NIST.
