Capital Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Knoxville, Iowa, United States. Travel may include up to 25% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.

Salary: $124,127–$151,710 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Lead the planning and execution of assigned capital projects, including Front End Loading studies, schedules, budgets, construction activities, and resource management.
• Develop competitive bidding strategies, evaluate bids, and select contractors.
• Define equipment performance requirements and engineering design criteria for safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Establish schedule and cost controls, including forecasting, progress tracking, variance analysis, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate communication among project teams, site leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, company requirements, safety expectations, and operational requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical diploma in an Engineering or Science discipline plus at least five years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management; or a bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline plus at least three years of relevant combined experience.
• Experience may be from private, public, government, or military environments.
• Ability to work on-site in Knoxville, Iowa.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Education and work history must be provided with the application.

Nice to have

• At least three years of experience in chemical manufacturing, industrial operations, or other process-based industries.
• Experience with coating, drying and curing, compounding and mixing, material handling, slitting, automation, and packaging systems.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional capital projects from concept through implementation.
• Project Management Professional certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, SAP, SolidWorks, NX, or similar engineering and project management tools.
