Technical Readiness Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Iowa City, IA, United States — onsite at the Iowa City Beauty Care Plant

Salary: $125,700–$157,100 per year

What you will do

• Lead technical readiness and represent plant operations and manufacturing feasibility across commercial, brand management, R&D, and executive stakeholders.
• Own technical readiness master plans and guide projects through Stage-Gate qualification milestones.
• Design and execute technical validation plans covering pilot production, tooling tests, line demonstrations, and production-scale validation.
• Coordinate test-market materials and finished consumer test products before mass rollout.
• Manage engineering changes, product specifications, material approvals, and quality-control readiness before first shipment.
• Plan manufacturing economics, capital expenditures, start-up budgets, total delivered cost, and critical-path schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial, packaging, materials science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, packaging development, or new product introduction within consumer packaged goods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food and beverage.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent enterprise scheduling software for multi-workstream critical-path schedules.
• Understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, capital expenditure management, and line-efficiency metrics including OEE.
• Strong executive-level written and verbal communication, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional influencing skills.
