Program Manager, Data and Information Governance (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in East Berlin, Connecticut, or Westwood, Massachusetts, United States. Employees must work at least three days per week in the office and may be required to work up to five days onsite. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise program for unstructured data governance, information management, and data protection.
• Develop the program strategy, governance framework, roadmap, operating model, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Drive standards for data classification, retention, sensitivity labeling, sharing permissions, lifecycle management, and document handling.
• Partner with business data owners, Legal, Records Management, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Collaboration teams.
• Lead steering updates and executive reporting covering risks, dependencies, progress metrics, remediation, and required decisions.
• Oversee data discovery, audit response, cyber response support, tabletop exercises, and preparedness simulations.

Requirements

• Five to ten years of relevant experience in program management, data governance, information management, compliance, records management, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, information management, records management, cybersecurity, legal studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, information lifecycle management, records and retention concepts, unstructured data risk, and information protection.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, retention labels and policies, data classification, and content exploration.
• Experience leading cross-functional enterprise initiatives, presenting to senior leadership, and managing remediation or transformation programs.

Nice to have

• PMP, Agile, Microsoft, Records and Information Management, Privacy, or Security-related certification.
