Technical Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Salary: $138,400–$173,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams while setting performance goals and managing team effectiveness.
• Coordinate delivery across Engineering, Quality Engineering, SRE, Release Management, Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations.
• Contribute hands-on for 20–30% of the time by writing and reviewing code, debugging complex issues, designing APIs, and delivering scalable platform services.
• Shape system architecture, influence the product roadmap, reduce technical debt, and drive scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Define engineering KPIs, manage priorities and resources, and improve delivery quality and predictability.
• Oversee on-call incidents, root-cause analysis, technical triage, and adoption of modern development practices.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.
• 15+ years of software development or related engineering experience and 5+ years managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with several of .NET, Java, C#, Linux containers, Kubernetes, MVC, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, modern JavaScript frameworks, Entity Framework, and microservices.
• Experience building SaaS products using modern, microservice-based, cloud-native architectures and at least one of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and tools such as Grafana, New Relic, or Haystack.
• Experience with event-driven and batch processing, role-based access systems, scalable operations, Lean-Agile methods, and management of distributed teams across time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, digital banking, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of treasury management, cash positioning, liquidity management, commercial payments, reconciliation, or banking formats such as ISO 20022, BAI2, MT940, and EDI 820.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
